Chapter 1

I resent the idea that the politicians are at fault. We point fingers at certain individuals in society for the way things are. Billionaires, tech bros, bankers, politicians, the army, China. In doing so we fail to realise that everyday "normal" people are the ones truly at fault. There is a hidden implication within the idea that the rich and politicians are to blame. That we're utterly powerless in changing the way things are. That we must depend on the whims of the elites to determine the conditions of our lives. As if we aren't a part of this system.

Just as it is the politicians and billionaires' role to oppress and kick the ladder. Perhaps it's the role of the working and middle classes to revolt and the failure to do so has meant that we're taken advantage of.

The middle class who are happily going along with the theatrical performance that is office life. A life where time needs be wasted. A performance you don't actually want to be doing. Surrounded by other actors pretending everything's okay. Given the bare minimum required to make you feel like you have a stake in the game. A bunch of fast walking, self-important, busy bodies in a rush to get home and do nothing.

The working class blinded by their pain. They cannot see that others also suffer and this often makes the working class incapable of seeing the bigger picture. How could you, when everyday is a struggle? But they use this as a shield for their ignorance, unwilling to learn, change or adapt it's only natural they're killed off first. However they scream for help and beg for compassion when it's them on the chopping block. The biggest hypocrites of them all. Poor does not mean virtuous.

We idly sit by and complain about how unjust the process is and how evil the crooks that control the system are. How is that going to help anything? It won't.

In times of oppression if you are not actively resisting, you are a part of the problem.
