Chapter 2 - AI can suck my flacid penis

AI is overhyped and overrated garbage. Is it logically possible for things we create to surpass us? Because the whole premise of AI was that it'll overcome human limitations allowing us to unlock new and hidden discoveries. Did the wheel, the telephone, the printing press or any human invention ever overcome humanity? No, it was tasked with lessening our burden. But AI is being treated differently. It's being treated almost like a living thing, as if it's a "child".

To me this doesn't make logical sense. You need to understand what AI is. It's a parrot. It can repeat things that humans have said before, that's all it can do.

People don't understand. In order to create a logic for learning, you need to have a complete understanding as to how humans learn. No-one understands that. If we did we'd have a much deeper understanding of the human brain. But it's painfully obvious that we have insufficient knowledge when it comes to the brain and it's processes. So how the fuck can anyone codify something they don't even fully understand? The AI models we have emulate. They do not learn. In order to "teach" a model, you need to spoonfeed it a constant stream of processed data. The real challenge is labelling massive amounts of raw data as only humans can do that. It's physically impossible for it to learn. It's like asking a calculator since I've done multiple calculations can you now do maths. The answer is no. Nor would you argue the calculator to be proficient at maths since it can do complicated calculations. The idea of AI is like asking a very advanced calculator if it can suddenly magically start thinking by itself.

How can something that is remarkably stupider than humans, discover things humans can't? Well, the answer is that it can't. AI will never be able to expand our horizons, it's literally not possible. The only thing that AI will be able to do is replace you or I, because as I said it's essentially a parrot. It doesn't make it more intelligent than any of us but it's easier to manipulate.

For convenience's sake we're replacing ourselves bit by bit. But what you fail to realise is when your labour is no longer needed, your life is no longer necessary. The idealic vision of a future where work is unnecessary and everyone can live in harmony will never be. When you and I are no longer needed we will be cast aside to rot and die, as history has proven again and again.

AI will never be able to fully replace us. But we allow the fear of it to control us. We're too incompotent for SkyNet but too stupid to realise.

We went to the moon 60 years ago and there hasn't been a meaningful breakthrough since then. Elon Musk's poorly attempting to commercialise spaceflight; the Edison of our times and history's proven that Edison was retarded. If we actually did make it to the moon and were serious about space exploration we would've built a base on the moon by now. The biggest limiting factor in space travel is gravity. Escaping our gravitational field is the name of the game. If you want to explore deeper into space you need more supplies. More supplies means the vessel is heavier. Heavier means the jet engines need to be more powerful in order to escape the Earth's gravity. More powerful jets means a more fuel hungry vessel, meaning more fuel and heavier vessel. This loop is the reason why all space exploration has effectively stopped, since it's impossible for us to delve deeper into space from Earth with our current technology. If we built a base on the moon where the gravitational pull's a fraction of the Earth's we could easily circumvent this problem. The fact that there has been zero commitment to building a base on the moon tells me that either NASA's incapable of building such a thing or the whole space exploration idea is a sham. Have you noticed? Everytime there's controversy, most recently Epstein's list, the government or some mysterious source leaks super duper legit pictures of aliens and UFOs. Our fascination with the stars have persisted since humanity has existed and up until recently I'd believed that we'd figured much of it out. Now I realise we have barely started understanding the stars and our ancestors with full view of the galaxy in the night's sky would've had a much better understanding than you or I'll ever have.

I'm not bringing up NASA's incompotence in order to suggest the moon landing was faked. I don't care. What I'm trying to achieve by highlighting the lack of advancements in space travel is the lacklustre nature of technology when compared to the expectations we had growing up. We had visions of flying cars, robots and a workless utopian society. Yet not a single one has been met. Instead what we have is fucking screens. Screens everywhere, at all times. Screens we are fixated to almost forcefully. Space travel's stagnation, which was meant to be at the very cutting edge of technology is symbolic for the current status of technology. A sobering truth to those who can see it for what it is. The fact that we're constantly promised new breakthroughs, just to find a greedy capitalist selling us false dreams. That bitch with the blood test who faked her deep voice. ChatGPT. NFTs/Crypto. All meaningless. Contributing nothing to helping everyday people live better lives. We've sold out for convenience. Sad fucks we are. Allowing idiots to convince us they're smart. Think about the iPhone, apart from it being overpriced garbage. What has fundamentally changed in terms of functionality from the first iPhone to the most recent one? I would argue that nothing has changed in nearly 20 years. The camera gets better, the look is updated and a new edgy ad is made. But the phone is still a phone with access to the internet and that's it's core function. There's been an enormous amount of fluff added but the intellectuals amongst you'll know that that's all it is. Fluff. Think iPencil. There's a veneer to modern tech, a slick look accompanied by a great marketing campaign but most products we use are flimsy, temporary and replacable.

Then the question becomes are we too stupid to advance tech or is there some other reason. I would argue it's the latter. We all live fake lives. Doing fake jobs. The tech we have is perfect for a fake, vapid and pretentious society. Just like we are. I would argue it's symbolic of us as a society. A falsified allure of compotency and functionality just like the millions living in any metropolitan area, wasting their lives doing things they don't want to in hopes of impressing others. Let us be a more honest society. Let's be better than the fucking iPencil.

At this point it's evidently clear that the real effect of AI as with any industrial revolution is the culling of the workforce. Human labour is costly. Human labour in western societies costs ungodly amounts of money. So as any good capitalist would do, the intention must be to reduce the workforce to it's bare minimum. Your meaningless office job is coming to an end. Sooner than later. What this means for the future no-one knows. Will the middle class cease to exist? Is everyone going to be working in the service industry? Which professions will remain?

I don't think slowing down is the answer. I don't think it's possible either. Then what do we do? Well I think the biggest elephant in the room we need to recognise is the fact that AI is used mostly for fearmongering. As I said AI isn't a malleable tool as the big tech leaders would like to have you believe. If you want it to do a task you have to code a very specific set of instructions for that. This is why entry level jobs have been impacted the most, because AI can only handle simple tasks. So if you're young and reading this. stop applying for bullshit entry jobs and instead find something you really want to do. Something even if you didn't make loads of money you'd be happy doing. I think this is the answer for everyone to be honest. Everyone needs to do a bit of soul searching and ask, have I been at my profession because it pays and well and I feel respected or have I genuinely enjoyed something I spent the majority of my time doing. We need to adjust our aspirations. I don't want to be rich. I want to be comfortable and happy.
